Countdown to the "ConCarExpo 2017" in Berlin
Running under the motto "Connected Car & Mobility Solutions", ConCarExpo 2017 unites more than 1,500 visitors and over 80 exhibitors from all over the world. With a large number of expert presentations and four parallel conferences with more than 100 speakers, it creates a knowledge-sharing platform. The focus is on the core issue of digitalization as a key on the road to fully automated and networked driving. Over the course of two days ConCarExpo 2017 will showcase the trends and active players that will be shaping the automotive sector in the future.
The automotive industry is in the midst of a revolution - the digitalization: future vehicle generations are self-communicating, communicating with each other, with the driver and their environment. This makes the cars smoother, more comfortable and safer. Technical innovations and innovative software solutions will have a major impact on the automotive industry in the next few years: there will be changes in the usage behavior and the design of the vehicles to the IT security in the car and new infrastructure concepts. Opportunities and possibilities for this upheaval are discussed by leading experts at the ConCarExpo international conferences:
- 4th International VDI-Conference „Automated Driving“
- 4th International VDI-Conference „Automotive HMI & Connectivity“
- 3rd International VDI-Conference „IT Security for Vehicles”
- International VDI-Conference „Digital Infrastructure & Automotive Mobility”
Johann Jungwirth, Head of the Digitalization Division at Volkswagen AG, will open the ConCarExpo 2017 with his speech at the ConCarForum. Visitors can participate in numerous expert talks or panel discussions on technology as a driving and enabling force for smart mobility solutions.
However, the car of the future will not remain to be a pure theory. At the Convention Hall II of the Estrel Berlin, visitors will meet leading automotive manufacturers, telecommunication, IT and software companies, such as BMW, AVL, Nokia or Microsoft, who are presenting their latest developments and business models.
The Car Pavillon presents many highlights and visitors can experience and view automated, urban electric vehicles.
Two-wheeled mobility solutions can be found on the Test Track "first & last mile" -Solutions. On a course, the participants are invited to ride smart bikes, e-skateboards or e-micro scooters.
In the Start-up Area that has its own forum, young and innovative companies will present their developments for the networked vehicle of the future.
At the ConCarExpo Hackathon, young IT development teams will create innovative solutions for various areas of mobility. After 24 hours, the results will be presented on the stage of the Start-up Area and the best among them will receive an award.
At the ConCarExpo press conference on July 5, 2017 at 11 a.m., experts will discuss emerging challenges and developments in the industry under the motto "Facing the Challenge - Digital Transformation in the Automotive Industry - Do car manufacturers have to become mobility & IT service providers?.
